Merry Christmas from Due West!

As Christmas day quickly approaches, and 2010 draws to an end, we can't help but be filled with an overwhelming sense of grattitude and joy. What blessed lives we lead to be able to live here in Nashville, Tennesse and write and sing country music for a living. We are truly living our dreams!

Back in April we released our debut album 'Due West' on the label that we created back in 2009, Bigger Than Me Records. Learning the ins and outs of running your own record label was a very eye-opening experience for us and we'll never regret that opportunity, or forget the people that partnered with us on that adventure. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Shortly after the release of our album, we were playing a show outside of Atlanta in a town called Roswell at The Swallow at the Hollow (coincidentally we'll be playing there again on New Year's Eve). To our fortune, several staff members from Black River Music Group showed up that night to see us play. They must have liked what they saw, because soon thereafter, we were offered a record deal! We entered into negotiations, and in July we signed the deal and became part of the Black River family. We could easily write a whole seperate blog about what an incredibly fortunate twist of fate that was, but for now, suffice it to say that we've landed in a very good place. Rest assured that the folks who own this company share the same dreams, visions and values as we do - this will be a very good thing.

We spent the whole rest of the Summer and Fall traveling the country litterally from shore to shore, playing dozens of shows and visiting radio stations. We released "Bible and the Belt" as our lead single on the new label, and celebrated it's success as we broke new ground on the country radio charts. We'd like to send out a huge thank you to all the stations who continue to take a chance on us and play our music - we're here to stay, and we won't forget how you've been there for us since the beginning. We understand that your jobs aren't easy, and that you're taking a risk by playing unknown artists like us. Thanks for 'getting' who we are; we will make you proud!

We've started a complete overhaul of our website, and continue to take great pride in our relationships with you, the fans, through our social networking sites. We love your passion and enthusiasm and commit to always maintain this connection we have with all of you. Many people may think that artists don't read the comments left by fans, that it's someone else who reads and replies to them. Well, that might be the case with some, but know that OUR interaction with OUR family of fans is often what gives us that extra bit of energy and confidence that it takes to battle this business sometimes. Thank you for believing in us. This journey is just getting started, and we invite you to come along for the ride of our lives!

At the core of all of this, what really matters the most is the MUSIC. We went back into the studio this Fall and re-recorded 6 of the 15 tracks from our self-release project. These 6 recordings will be released on an EP in February called "Forget The Miles" under the Black River label. They are newer improved versions that you are sure to enjoy. Thank you Black River for giving us the opportunity to get THESE songs out to the world on a larger scale than what we were able to do on our own. You could have just moved on and forgotten about all of these tunes - so once again, thank you. We'll be excited to go forward now and create all new music!

The New Year will bring MANY exciting things including a new single, a new video, AND....well, we won't spoil the surprises. Stay tuned!

God bless you all, and Merry Christmas.
